New Artist: Charles Johnson

Charlie b aka Charles Johnson was born on april 10th 1989 in Pomona California. He is a 21 year old new upcoming R&B, HipHop, Pop artist that holds no bars. Growing up he had alot of musical influences from prince to micheal jackson to the beatles . It wasnt untill his freshmen year of high school were he began to sing and he developed rapidly threw out high school, he was in numerous groups from Tr3-knox to heartbreak to SJB until eventually becoming a solo artist, now he is on the rise to stardom in southern California .Charles Is Now working on ( No Names Just Music Vol.2) and creating a buzz on the internet and performing at new venues in southern california. He has perfomed at venues such as Ontario Improv ( Ontario Ca) , The Terrace ( passadena Ca ) Stevies Cafe ( Encino Ca) Palms CLub ( Hollywood Ca )

V-103 promoted the show at BestBuy, Corey was called on stage to sing, and blew the audience away shortly after getting off stage he met his then manager Frank (Big Frank) Hagans

New Unsigned Artist : Skai

Bio:
Since the beginning of time, humans have looked to the heavens to find a better way.  They have gazed across the vast canvas of blue...imagining and inspired by their limitless thoughts, in hopes that they would escape whatever indignities suffered on earth, only to find a wondrous place of peace. This is what separates the angelic musical stylings of Skai from her peers- her voice calms the soul, lifts the hearts, and inspires passion with each celebrated note.Skai (pronounced Sky) hails from the talented city of Tallahassee, Florida.  Such as the case with most prodigies, Skai realized that she was different from her peers. "At 8 years old, I could catch on to melodies, harmonies, and sing in ways that most others couldn’t.  I didn’t realize how special my talent was until people started requesting me to perform at various places,” Skai humbly remembers.

Unable to afford the vocal coaches and music lessons available to families with larger disposable income, Skai began to devour music from every available source.  “I would listen to the radio or borrow CDs so I could learn to mimic styles and get better because I just had to be the best.  Some of my personal favorites were Boyz II Men, Bell Biv DeVoe, Lauryn Hill, Cece Winans, and Whitney Houston.”

However, just as Skai began to turn the corner in her career, she had to learn a hard lesson - sometimes in life, to enjoy the sunshine, you must endure the rain.  Dark clouds formed in Skai's life when her mother passed soon after her entry into the professional music scene in 2001.  Skai sadly remembers, “my mother was my life!  For so many years, it was just us.  But, I promised her I wouldn’t waste my talents and am now fully focused on making my career as prosperous as possible.”

Keeping her word, Skai has channeled her now stronger emotions into crafting, writing, and recording her own songs, including the extremely radio friendly, “(Why U) Didn’t Call.”  This song amongst others, has allowed her to venture to different markets opening for acts such as Pleasure P (formerly of Pretty Ricky), Sean J (formerly of Field Mobb), Trick Daddy, Trina, Soulja Boi, Yung Joc, Rick Ross and Brian McKnight.  In fact, her fans have been so eager to Touch The Skai in 2007 they made “(Why U) Didn’t Call” the number 2 downloaded ring tone for unsigned artists on www.groupietunes.com. This success lead to the completion of a mixtape entitled "The Skai Is The Limit' allowing Skai the opportunity to work with Atlantic recording artist Plies and Nappy Boy recording artist Tay Dizm as well as several other award winning producers and engineers in the south. This mixtape has been nominated for the 2009 Southern Entertainment Awards, Best R&B album.   Skai has also been recognized in several publications including the top selling, Ozone Magazine, Urban Network Magazine, internet music sites, several radio spots that remain in heavy rotation, as well as, winning the Gainesville Music Summit’s 2008 Unsigned R&B Artist of the year award, 2009 Tallahassee Idol and the SEA 2009 Best Unsigned R&B Artist of the year award. Her drive and humility coupled with her winning attitude all prove that Skai is sure to be around for years to come and that she is definitely an artist you want to watch for
